Top dressing with organic compost instead of synthetic fertilizers is more environmentally friendly and sustainable. It adds organic matter back into your lawn and reintroduces microorganisms back into the soil and helps retain moisture and condition the clay soil common in North Texas. We recommend combining this service with core aeration to place new organic material and nutrients deeper into the soil. Top dressing with compost can reduce the stress on your lawn from foot or vehicle traffic.

 

Consider top dressing before overseeding or planting a new lawn to ensure any grass seed planted has contact with soil, needed to germinate. We use a finely processed compost screened to 1/2". Compost is applied at a 1/4" thickness. 1 cubic yard will cover an estimated 1,000 square feet of lawn.
